Washington School has implemented in its three levels of education the Emotional Education Programme (EEP), designed by the School Counselling Team together with the BOD. The Programme contemplates the permanent learning and training of teachers and tutors, the work with students taking into account their developmental stage and the creation of a space for reflection for parents.
Thoughts are strongly affected by emotions. One of the strategies to make learning significant is letting emotions involve in the process of teaching.
The programme includes a systematic plan based on four axes to the School curriculum: Emotional Self- conscience; Regulation and management of emotions; Empathy and compassion and Social Skills. The development of these social and emotional competences within the school context allows our students to achieve higher levels of wellbeing, interrelate positively with others and enhance their academic performance.
School Cousellors’ Team
An interdisciplinary Counselling Team jointly works with Heads of the different levels and teachers, reflecting together on the teaching process, helping them achieve healthy learning environments. Its main objective lies on prevention. The EOP coordinates the Programme of Emotional Education.
