Our proposal
Washington School places its Primary students in a position of prominence during this second stage of their formal education. We aim to nurture in them a lasting passion for learning—one that embraces commitment, effort, and the joy of discovery. We combine a strong teaching vocation with solid professional development to offer educational experiences of the highest quality, always oriented to each child's academic and personal growth.

A bilingual and integral approach
Since its foundation, Washington School has embraced a bilingual identity, later becoming an International School. This principle continues to guide our educational vision: students use English and Spanish interchangeably as tools for thinking, communicating and inquiring. Through articulated projects, learners express themselves naturally in both languages while engaging in meaningful learning environments that foster curiosity, responsibility and solidarity in a cognitively challenging and emotionally safe context.
Our curriculum includes English, English as a Second Language, Maths, Global Perspectives, Wellbeing, Lab, Art, Music, Computer Science, Technology, and Physical Education. Since 2023, we have implemented the Cambridge Primary Programme, strengthening our commitment to innovation. We encourage students to ask questions, explore and progressively develop their autonomy through research, creativity, reflection and self-evaluation—learning how to learn in a constantly evolving world.
Portuguese as a third language
From Third Form onwards, we incorporate Portuguese as a third language, expanding our students’ cultural and linguistic horizons and enriching their international profile. This proposal also includes certification from the renowned institution Casa do Brasil.

Our school community
In Primary School, everyone belongs: families, teachers and support staff co-create the school experience. Together, we focus on nurturing each child’s self-confidence and self-esteem, which naturally enhances the learning process. We place emphasis on the strategies used rather than the final outcome—valuing the “how” over the “what”—and recognising that every learning journey is unique and meaningful.
