An integral approach to
sports and movement
At WS, Physical Education and Sports is a key component of our proposal, considering it promotes our students’ physical, intellectual, and emotional balance, contributing to the comprehensive development of each of them.
Within our Community, we practise and understand Sports as a means towards socialization and the consolidation of values, later transferred to every other area of our life such as respect, teamwork, tolerance, and self-improvement. From this perspective, we motivate our students to strongly work on body and movement to achieve self-knowledge, letting them communicate, express themselves, relate to each other, and learn in different contexts.

Sports and Healthy Habits
Through a challenging proposal, Washington School offers a number of sports – such as Hockey, Rugby, Volleyball and Athletics – and recreational activities to foster physical development, Fair Play and, fundamentally, the acquisition of healthy habits.
In Kindergarten, the development of basic motor-sports and coordination skills is stimulated through age-appropriate elements. From K5 and the early years of Primary School, we include the practice of gymnastics with elements and pre-sports games. As from 4th Form of Primary Level, students practice the aforementioned sports. The school year begins with the Hockey and Rugby seasons, for girls and boys respectively, and in the second part of the school year, it continues with Athletics and recreational practices including other sports (Soccer, Basketball, Handball, etc.).
Sports and Camping Trips
Throughout our school year, different experiences are proposed in unique natural settings which complement learning, develop ecological conscience and caring for the environment. These trips are highly positive to reinforce a sense of belonging, strengthen bonds among peers and teachers, expand their culture and achieve new levels of autonomy.
A.Co.Bi. Tournament
In Secondary School, Volleyball is included as an option for both girls and boys, and the practice of Athletics continues with participation in the A.Co.Bi. (Association of Bilingual Schools) Tournament, organized by Washington School. These instances strengthen team spirit, healthy competition and the encounter with other learning communities.
Club Ciudad de Buenos Aires
Sports activities at Washington School take place at the Club Ciudad de Buenos Aires. This venue includes excellent facilities for the practice of a great number of sports, recreational areas, indoor gyms and medical care.
